I Love You Not Nearly Joel Dobbins Watching Like A Hawk
Back Story:
"I was inspired by the "I love, I love you not" concept of being so undecided, and try to write a song that didn't have a conclusion. Most songs are just so definite in their message, but this is really an internal struggle sort of song. The verses depict other things beyond something within a relationship, but are also toying with the global tensions such as the threat of nuclear warfare and the debates over who and if anyone is responsible of starting COVID-19. "
- Joel Dobbins
Lyrics:
I didn't always see through you
Because I always thought better of you
I've tried enough times now to know
That you are always just for show
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
Making sense in this world can feel senseless
Until you burst the bubble from east to west
Can't stop with those nuclear finger tips
But your shine won't last a moon eclipse
Time's the currency you took for granted
Instead of love we often ranted
Now I know you don't deserve me
Because you never really loved me
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
But as you live your life of lies
Got your mask to monopolize
You'll never give any respect for the man
As that was always against the plan
Every life chapter you excuse away
Until there's no one left in sight to play
Did you ever say never say never
Will you ever be a naysayer
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
I love you
I love you not nearly
